Huntington Overview

Huntington is home to Long Island Sunroom Co. We have been based here since our founding in 2011, and the Town of Huntington is where we have completed the most projects of any single municipality.

The Town of Huntington encompasses a wide range of communities -- from the historic village of Huntington and the waterfront neighborhoods of Huntington Bay and Lloyd Harbor to the suburban developments of Dix Hills, Commack, and Melville. The housing stock spans nearly every style found on Long Island: colonials from the 1700s in the village center, post-war capes and ranches in East Northport, split-levels in Dix Hills, and newer construction throughout.

Median home values in Huntington range from $500,000 in some sections to over $1.5 million in waterfront and estate neighborhoods. Regardless of price point, Huntington homeowners consistently invest in their properties, and sunroom additions are one of the most popular home improvement projects in the town.

Our proximity means we can schedule site visits on short notice, respond quickly to repair calls, and bring deep neighborhood knowledge to every project in the town.

Huntington Neighborhoods

Huntington Village -- The historic center, with a mix of Victorian, colonial, and craftsman homes. Properties near the village center often have smaller lots, making careful design essential. The village's character calls for architecturally sensitive additions.

Huntington Bay and Lloyd Harbor -- Waterfront communities on the North Shore. Homes range from modest cottages to multi-million-dollar estates. Salt air, coastal wind exposure, and water views all factor into sunroom design here. Four-season sunrooms with marine-grade materials are the standard specification.

Cold Spring Harbor -- Affluent harbor community with a mix of historic and newer homes. Cold Spring Harbor's hilly terrain sometimes requires pier foundations for sunroom additions on sloped lots.

Dix Hills -- Large residential community with spacious lots (often 0.5-1+ acres) and predominantly colonial and split-level homes built from the 1960s through 1990s. Generous rear yards make Dix Hills a great area for substantial sunroom additions. This is one of our most active markets.

East Northport -- Mix of ranches, capes, and colonials on moderate lots. Active families with kids and dogs -- screen rooms and three-season sunrooms are popular here.

Commack and Melville -- Suburban communities with well-maintained homes on 0.25-0.5 acre lots. Strong demand for patio enclosures converting existing decks and patios.

Local Knowledge

Being based in Huntington gives us advantages that out-of-town contractors cannot match:

Same crew start to finish: No contractor handoffs, no subcontractor confusion. Tom and the same Huntington-based team that scopes your project also builds it. One point of contact from first call to final walkthrough.

Rapid response: For sunroom repairs and storm damage assessments, our Huntington location means we can be at your property within hours, not days.

Neighborhood knowledge: We understand Huntington's diverse neighborhoods, their architectural character, and the specific building conditions (soil types, wind exposure, flood zones) that affect sunroom design. A sunroom in Lloyd Harbor requires different engineering than one in Commack, and we account for that in every project.

Local references: With more completed projects in Huntington than any other municipality, we can provide references from homeowners in your specific neighborhood.

Reviews from Huntington Homeowners

Real homeowners in Huntington who chose Long Island Sunroom Co.

Got quotes from four companies. Long Island Sunroom Co. was the only one who actually came out, measured, and explained what would work for our ranch. No pressure. Fair price.

We added the insulation upgrade and radiant floor heat. In December, the sunroom is warmer than our living room. Worth every penny.
